"Arise, O Soul"
by Matt Campbell
from a Selah Moment at Colonial Baptist Church

Arise, Ransomed Soul.
Arise, Redeemed Soul.
Arise, Reconciled Soul.

You, yes you are ransomed from your futile ways of sin.
You are ransomed by nothing less than the precious blood of Christ.
He was like a pure white lamb without spot or blemish.
His precious blood flowed as He drank the cup.
The poisonous cup of the wrath of God.
And you, groveling in your sin, could not even see the debt you owed.
But He came not to be served, but to give His life for you.
He was crushed for you, O Soul.

So Rise Soul.
You are redeemed!
You are redeemed by nothing less than the murder of Christ on a tree.
In Him nothing was worth cursing only holiness and perfect love.
He was cursed as He hung on the tree.
The curse of God for those who hang on a tree.
And you, reprobate and lost knew not your need for a Father.
But He was sent not to judge, but to bring you into the family of God as a true son.
He was cursed for you, O Soul.

So Rise Soul!
You are reconciled to God!
You are reconciled by nothing less than the death of God's Son.
God loves His Son. There was no other way. Jesus was the only way to reconcile you to God.
God willed and allowed that His Son be killed on a cross.
And you, the enemy of God, a hater of God, lived for the pleasure of your pride.
But He quietly gave Himself to you, so that you might be made a friend of God.
He was cast off for you, O Soul.

So Rise Soul!
Ransomed, Redeemed, and Reconciled.
Cast off the chains of fear and run to righteousness!
Spit out the poisonous water of sin and drink deeply from the river of Life.
Look not to yourself, but run, run I say to the throne of grace.

Rise O Soul!
Plunge yourself fully into the depths of the Love of God.
